East Point (Equatorial Ascendant), the way of communicating and interacting at the collective level

In his book "Horoscope Symbols" (1981), Robert Hand describes the East Point [!] as "the most impersonal [relationships]: it indicates one's relationships with the larger world around one."

While the ascendant is related with the action of going towards another person to interact face to face, the East Point (also called Equatorial Ascendant) is targeted towards a group of people that can be more or less broad. For example, speaking in public in front of a room full of people, on a radio, television or Internet channel; or write a press release, on an internet blog or on a social network, etc...

The East Point is related with the way of communicating and interacting at the collective level, as well as the aspects of personal life that can be made public and achieve media difussion.

Natalie Portman, actress of the movie "Star Wars: Episode I - Phantom Menace" (1999), has the East Point in Scorpio (9th Moon-Node House), in opposition to Chiron; and in semisextile with Pluto-Juno in Libra (10th Moon-Node House).

Al Pacino, actor in the movie "The Recruit" (2003), has the East Point at the low point of Cancer sign (4th Moon-Node House, cusp) near Chiron; in conjunction with the object Zhulong; and in square with the object Varuna and the centaur Hylonome at the low point of Aries sign (7th Moon-Node House, cusp).

Felipe VI, king of Spain, has the East Point in Taurus (12th Moon-Node House), in trine with Jupiter in Virgo (8th Moon-Node House); in trine with Venus in Capricorn (4th Moon-Node House); and in opposition to Ceres in Scorpio (6th Moon-Node House).

Vertex, unusual situations, difficult to assimilate in the context of everyday experiences

The Vertex is a geometric point defined by the intersection between the ecliptic plane and the main vertical plane, which divides between forward and backward; just as the plane of the horizon divides between above and below, and the plane of the meridian divides between left and right.

According to Robert Hand, astrologically, the Vertex has relevance in "dramatic situations that are not characteristic of one's ordinary life".

Elizabeth Banks, "Walk of Shame" (2013)

The Vertex is related with those situations that stand out for being very far from the baseline of what happens to a specific person on a daily basis. This are difficult to handle and to assimilate within the context of habitual experiences (specific to each person).

Lunar Perigee (opposition to the Black Moon), emotional intensity

The Lunar Perigee, astrologically defined as the opposition to the Black Moon, corresponds to the point of the Moon's orbit closest to the orbit of the planet Earth. At that point the emotional intensity reaches its maximum.

"Marley & Me" (2008)

Such degree of emotional intensity can overflow the mind, causing turbulence in behavior.

"The Lovely Bones" (2009)

At other times, it can exaggerate the emotions of surprise, causing the experience of a shock that is difficult to attenuate.

"The Age of Adaline" (2015)

In the particular case of the Moon in opposition to the Black Moon and the Sun, a full moon is produced, amazing due to its size, popularly known as 'Super Moon'.

"Perfect Strangers (Perfectos desconocidos)" (2017)
[Spanish, English subtitles]

Harrison Ford, actor of the movie "The Age of Adaline" (2015), has the Lunar Perigee in Sagittarius (9th Moon-Node House), in conjunction with the Galactic Center; and in square with Neptune in Virgo (12th Moon-Node House).

Aries Point in opposition to the supermassive black hole M87

In January of 1933 took place the culmination of the very slow opposition between the Aries Point and the supermassive black hole M87.

The Aries Point is related with the set of ideas and thoughts that drive forward to start a process. Oppositions to this point provoke a detection, prioritizing the strategies that precede the advance and that take into consideration the possible obstacles or the attitudes and purposes of other people involved.

M87 is a supermassive black hole related with time dilation and progressions to future. Therefore, during that time, Jung began to be interested in the 'I-Ching' (Chinese oracle) and used for the first time the concept of 'synchronicity'.

The Marseille tarot deck, which became very popular in the 18th century during the discovery of the supermassive black hole M87, was surpassed several centuries later by the Waite tarot deck, designed in 1909.

Louise and Bruno Huber, astrologers who were born during that time (with M87 located at 29º52' Virgo and 29º57' Virgo, respectively), became very interested in the cosmic influence associated with the Aries Point.

Currently, M87 is located at 1º11' Libra.

Aries Point, initiating processes

The Aries Point (0° of Aries) is the starting point of the Signs Horoscope (where the Age Point is located at birth), analogous to the Moon-Node in relation to the Moon-Node Horoscope, or the Ascendant in relation to the House Horoscope.

Unlike the Ascendant, which represents a face-to-face encounter, the Aries Point is related with establishing a connection through the mental level, which can be in a non-face-to-face way, such as filling out a form to initiate procedures, or sending a request to sign up for an activity.

"The Hot Flashes" (2013)

The Aries Point represents the basic set of thoughts, characteristic of each person, that arise when initiating a process or when taking the initiative.

Brooke Shields, actres of the movie "The Hot Flashes" (2013), has the Aries Point in the 2nd Moon-Node House in golden aspect (GA2@68º45') with Jupiter and the Sun in the cusp of the 1st Moon-Node House.

Emma Stone, actress of the movie "Easy A" (2010), has the Aries Point in the 12th Moon-Node House in conjunction with Mars; in square with Saturn-Uranus in the 3rd Moon-Node House; in sesquiquadrate with the Sun in the 5th Moon-Node House (which is in conjunction with Pluto); and in quincunx with Mercury in the 5th Moon-Node House. The square is the common aspect of two triangular aspect patterns: the first is formed by a semisquare and a sesquicuadrate with the Sun, and the second, by a sextile and a quincunx with Mercury. The two figures are united by a taotil between the Sun and Mercury.

Black Moon (lunar apogee), affinity relationships

Astronomically, the Black Moon represents the apogee of the lunar orbit (the furthest point of the orbit of the Moon around the Earth).

Astrologically it is related with affinity relationships, based on a large number of points in common and coincidences in tastes and opinions.

In the lunar perigee, the closest point of the orbit of the Moon around the Earth (the point in opposition to the Black Moon), the emotional intensity and the dispersion from the incoming stimuli of the environment reaches its maximum, that is why it is so difficult to stay focused.

"The Hot Flashes" (2013)

Michaela Conlin, actress of the TV series "Bones" (2005) and the movie "The Lincoln Lawyer" (2011), has the Black Moon in Cancer (3rd Moon-Node House) in conjunction with Venus and Castor.

Hinako Ashihara, author of the manga “Sand Chronicles (砂時計, Sunadokei)” (2003), has the Black Moon in Capricorn (12th Moon-Node House), in conjunction with the Juno and Ceres, and in square with Uranus in Libra (cusp of 3rd Moon-Node House), wich is in trine with Saturn in Gemini (cusp of 7th Moon-Node House).

Chris Carter, creator of TV series "X-Files" (1993), has the Black Moon on the cusp of Aquarius (cusp of 11th Moon-Node House) in the Crossing Point of Age Progression in the Signs Horoscope, in square with Neptune in Scorpio (2nd Moon-Node House); in sextile with Saturn in Sagittarius (1st Moon-Node House); and in quincunx with Pluto in Virgo (4th Moon-Node House).
